Follow these instructions to set up an integration between Justworks and Cocoon, which will allow Cocoon to automatically pull in relevant employee data into our platform.

Note: this integration does not enable Cocoon to push employee leave or pay data back to Justworks.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Log into your Justworks account on the Justworks site. Then, navigate to Company > Permissions.

  2. Next, add the Admin whose credentials you’ll be entering into Merge Link to the permissions labeled below with red arrows by clicking on the blue down arrows of each permission and selecting “Add an Admin”.

For further clarification, you should add this admin to the following permissions:

    • Edit company settings

    • Make payments

    • View invoices & reporting

    • Manage employees

    • View all employee information

    • View basic employee information

    • Upload and view all documents

    • Manage company benefits

  3. Navigate back to Cocoon Dashboard, go to Settings > HR & payroll, hit the “Set up integration” button, and log into your Justworks account as you normally would on the Justworks site within the Merge Link modal.

NOTE: You should be using the credentials of the admin to whom you’ve added the permissions listed above.

  4. Next, enter your 2FA code for Justworks in the modal. NOTE: You should have your 2FA enabled already in your Justworks account settings.

Congratulations! You have now integrated your HRIS provider with Cocoon! No further action is needed on your end, Cocoon will now produce census files from the data pulled from your provider — an automatic sync will occur weekly to produce a new, accurate census file.

If you see an error, review the instructions to add the correct permissions to the admin whose credentials your inputting. If the issue persists, please contact Cocoon at [email protected].
