How to enter your company holidays within Cocoon

To add your company holidays, admins can navigate to the Cocoon dashboard, click “Settings” and then click “Company Holidays”.

From there you will select “Add Holiday” which will prompt you to complete these fields:

  • Holiday Name

  • Start Date

  • End Date (for single-day holidays, the start and end date can be the same)

Additionally, you are asked to choose how employees should be paid if company holidays overlap with paid leave time. There are two options:

  • Leave of Absence Policy: Employees will be compensated in accordance with the employer's existing leave policy for the type of leave they are on. For example, unpaid leave will remain unpaid, while paid leave will continue to be paid.

  • Holiday Pay: The employer's leave policy will not apply during the holiday, and employees will be compensated specifically for the holiday.

    Note: Company holidays can only be modified once per calendar year. Once a holiday’s start date has passed, it can no longer be edited or deleted. Be sure to review holiday dates and payment settings carefully before saving changes.
