Cocoon’s Support team is here to help guide employees as they explore their options, plan and take their leave, and return to work. One piece of this support offering is the Life and Work Success Program. These automated touchpoints throughout the parental leave process help guide employees (and their managers) through what to expect before, during, and after leave.

Employee Touchpoints

Account Creation

  • Upon account creation: Introduction to Cocoon Support team, with claims and pay education

Prior to birth

  • 3 months before leave starts: Reminder to talk to manager and team

  • 6 weeks before leave starts: Reminder to begin out-of-office plan (+ OOO Plan Template)

  • 4 weeks prior: Review company benefits available to you and FYI that once the baby is born, you have 30 days to add to insurance.

  • 2 weeks prior: Reminder to setup OOO messages

After Birth

  • 3 weeks before return: Begin plan for return for work and reminder to communicate any changes

  • 1 week before return: Check-in and tips for returning

  • 1 day before return: First day back prep

After returning to work

  • 1 week after return: Check-in

  • 1 month after return: Final Check-in


Manager Touchpoints

Prior to leave:

  • Upon leave being shared: Prep manager for employee going out and tips on handling, provide resources and guidance

  • 2 weeks before leave starts: Prep manager for leave starting soon

During Leave:

  • Upon leave beginning: Maintain a one-pager of info for employee

  • 2 weeks before return: Tips and considerations for an employee’s return

Return to Work

  • Employee return: How to help an employee ramp back up, preparing for their first day back

  • 4 weeks after employee returns: Check in on manager and employee
