During the planning flow, Cocoon:
Identifies the employee’s benefit state
Asks who they will be caring for
Confirms whether the relationship is covered under applicable leave laws and eligibility rules
For example:
Under the FMLA, covered relationships include those with a parent, spouse, or child.
Under CFRA in California, parent-in-law relationships are also covered.
If an employee selects a relationship that is not covered based on their eligibility, Cocoon will flag it and prompt them to contact support for a review of next steps.
