As an Admin, what can I see on the Eligibility details tab?

For parental, medical, and caregiver leaves submitted after November 2023, Admins can view the criteria Cocoon used to determine eligibility for each relevant entitlement to help you better understand why an employee is eligible or not eligible for each one.

To get there, simply navigate to any individual leave in your Admin Dashboard and click on the Eligibility details. There, you will see a table with each relevant entitlement and whether or not the employee is eligible for it. Click the arrow icon next to each entitlement's name to expand it for further details.

What details can I see?

Cocoon uses a combination of employer-provided information and census data to automatically determine an employee’s eligibility. In the details of each entitlement, we surface the entitlement-specific criteria (Criteria), a brief description of what it means, and the information provided about the employee we rely upon to make our determination (Evaluation status).

Examples of criteria include:

  • Location: whether the employee works at or near a qualifying worksite under applicable federal or state law rules

  • Tenure: any required length of service with the employer (your company) as of the anticipated leave start date.

    • Cocoon assumes a single continuous period of employment and does not consider any prior periods of employment at your company.

  • Hours worked: any required number of hours the employee must work as of the anticipated leave start date. Cocoon uses actual working time as compared to time that is paid but not actually worked (e.g., paid leave, PTO, vacation).
