Taking parental leave can be a big deal for both employees and their managers! Many managers don’t have much experience supporting any of their direct reports as they prepare to go out on leave and eventually ramp back up to work. Cocoon sends a number of emails to keep managers up to date on their direct report’s leave, as well as some tips and suggestions for welcoming an employee back from leave.
Emails a manager will receive throughout an employee’s parental leave:
When a leave is submitted: When an employee submits their leave in Cocoon, the manager will receive an email notification right away.
When a leave is updated or edited: When an employee changes their leave in any way, the manager will receive an email notification right away.
Two weeks before leave starts: Two weeks before their leave is expected to start, we’ll send the manager an email to help them get prepared.
When an employee begins their leave: The day an employee begins their leave, the manager will receive an email notification along with tips for maintaining a one-pager of information for their employee.
When an employee returns from their leave: One week before an employee is scheduled to return from leave, the manager will receive an email notification with some suggestions for how to help them ramp back up and prepare for their first day back.
Four weeks after employee returns: One month after their return, we’ll send an email to check in on how things are going.
